Nightly Closures of

MacArthur On-Ramp to Southbound SR-55

Extended Through End of January

WHAT:

Crews are constructing a retaining wall adjacent to the on-ramp from MacArthur Boulevard to southbound SR-55. This work requires installing temporary shoring and removing the existing retaining wall.

The MacArthur on-ramp to SB SR-55 will continue to be closed so crews can safely access the work area.

WHEN:

The on-ramp will continue to be closed weeknights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the end of January.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
