Cowan Reconstruction

Crews are expected to resurface a portion of Cowan as part of the freeway improvements. This work will require a full overnight closure of the street. This work is tentatively scheduled from

9 p.m., Friday, May 9 to 6 a.m., Saturday, May 10.

Northbound Dyer Road Loop

On-Ramp Extended Closure

In the coming weeks, crews are scheduled to perform a

long-term closure of the northbound SR-55 Dyer Road loop on-ramp. Additional information will be provided in future communications.

Dyer Road Pile Driving Update

Crews are expected to shift pile driving activities from the abutments to the median at the Dyer Road bridge. When this work begins at the median, traffic will be shifted towards the outside lanes to create a safe work area for crews.

About the Project

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
