In observance of Labor Day, there will be no closures scheduled from Friday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 1. Construction activities will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

WHAT:

Crews are expected to reconstruct the southbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard off-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp.

WHEN:

The off-ramp is expected to close as soon as 10 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9 and reopen to motorists by 5 a.m., Friday, Sept. 19.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

The southbound MacArthur Boulevard loop on-ramp is open to motorists following an extended closure to reconstruct the ramp! We appreciate the public’s patience to allow contractors to complete the work safely.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
