Crews continue to clear vegetation, excavate and install framework for new retaining walls on Pullman Street between MacArthur Boulevard and McGaw Avenue, and perform earthwork around the MacArthur Boulevard bridge during the day.

In addition, contractors are expected to continue restriping lanes and placing temporary concrete barriers along southbound (SB) SR-55, as well as conduct electrical work in both directions of SR-55. These activities will require lane and ramp closures, nightly, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 22.

In observance of Thanksgiving, there will be no construction activities on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
