Dyer Road Bridge Pile Driving Update and Closures

To accommodate ongoing pile driving operations, crews have temporarily closed the outside left-turn lane on eastbound Dyer Road, as well as the outside lane on northbound Grand Avenue on Thursday, April 10. These closures will be ongoing for approximately four weeks.

In addition, crews are scheduled to relocate the pile driving crane, which will require a full closure of Dyer underneath the freeway from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, Monday, April 14 and Tuesday, April 15.

Northbound SR-55 Dyer Road Off-Ramp

Open to Motorists!

The northbound SR-55 Dyer Road off-ramp has reopened after an extended closure to reconstruct the ramp. We appreciate the public’s patience to allow contractors to safely complete this work.

Keep OC Clean

Crews continue to conduct efforts to keep the project corridor clean, including the removal of vegetation and weeds, as well as ensure local streets are maintained for pedestrians and motorists.

Please report graffiti and trash along the corridor to the Outreach Team at

888-371-2555 or email SR55Info@octa.net.

About the Project

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
