The southbound MacArthur Boulevard off-ramp is open to motorists following an extended closure to reconstruct the ramp! During the closure, crews performed removals, grading, repaved the ramp, and added new striping. We appreciate the public’s patience to allow contractors to complete the work safely. 

This section will feature progress and milestones the construction crews are making behind k-rail.

A total of 18 retaining walls are being constructed as part of the SR-55 Improvement Project. Six of the 18 walls are currently under construction and 12 walls have been completed.

In August 2025, crews completed structural construction of the 416-foot long retaining wall along the northbound Dyer Road loop on-ramp. Stay in the know before you go, and visit octa.net/55Construction to stay informed on construction progress.

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
