On-Ramp Extended Closure

WHAT:

Crews are expected to reconstruct the southbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard loop on-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp.

WHEN:

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

Closure at Dyer Road Bridge for Girder Installation Tonight, Aug. 1

Crews have installed 30 of 36 girders at the Dyer Road bridge. These girders are concrete beams that are an integral part of the reconstruction process because they are used to support the freeway deck and the vehicles that drive on top of it.

To allow crews to install the remaining girders, the northbound SR-55 loop

on-ramp and both directions of Dyer Road underneath the freeway will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 1.

About the Project

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
