Ongoing bridge construction activities at the Dyer Road and Edinger Avenue bridges will require closing eastbound and westbound Dyer and Edinger underneath the freeway from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Monday, Jan. 12 through Friday, Jan. 16.

WHAT:

Crews are expected to perform drainage work at the southbound SR-55 McFadden Avenue off-ramp, which will require an extended closure of the ramp.

WHEN:

The off-ramp is expected to close as soon as 9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 13 and reopen to motorists by 5 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23.

This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

On Wednesday, Jan. 14 beginning at 9 a.m., crews are scheduled to sweep along the outside shoulder in both directions of the 55 freeway between I-405 and I-5. Look out for a cleaner corridor!

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
