Street Closures
Crews are expected to continue nighttime work on the Lakeview Avenue bridge. To facilitate concrete pours, the following closures are anticipated to occur as early as 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., tonight, Friday, April 3 and Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10 (into Saturday morning):
Lakeview between Santa Ana Canyon Road and the westbound (WB) SR-91 off-ramp at Lakeview Avenue
WB SR-91 off-ramp at Lakeview
WB SR-91 on-ramp at Lakeview
Eastbound (EB) SR-91 on-ramp at Lakeview
Segment 1: Lakeview to SR-55
New Temporary Lakeview Configuration Is Here
As of Monday, March 2 motorists traveling both northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) on Lakeview Avenue will use a new signalized intersection to access the newly realigned westbound (WB) SR-91 straight on-ramp, and the WB SR-91 loop on-ramp at Lakeview Avenue has been permanently closed.
Additionally, the eastern side of Lakeview Avenue is fully closed to pedestrians through August 2026. The western side is accessible to pedestrians.
Crews are hard at work. You may notice more traffic than usual. Please allow for extra time or utilize alternative routes.
New Traffic Pattern:
NB motorists will turn left at the signal to access the on-ramp
SB motorists will turn right in either of the two turn lanes at the signal
Lakeview Avenue Bridge Construction
Falsework Construction for New Bridge
Crews are placing rebar and continuing with concrete pours to build the new Lakeview Avenue bridge.
During the week of April 6, concrete pours are anticipated to continue during nighttime hours.
Crews placing temporary support structures for construction of the new Lakeview Avenue bridge.
Crews placing girders or steel support beams to form the new Lakeview Avenue bridge.
Crews installing structural bracing to form the new the Lakeview Avenue bridge.

Crews continue work on a sound wall along the WB SR-91 on-ramp and a retaining wall along the EB SR-91 on-ramp. Daily construction activities will start as early as 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The new walls are anticipated to be complete by mid-2026.

Segment 2: SR-55 to SR-57
Construction on Segment 2 of the SR-91 Improvement Project is expected to begin in mid-2026.
Segment 3: SR-57 Interchange
Construction on Segment 3 of the SR-91 Improvement Project is underway bringing major upgrades to the SR-91/SR-57 interchange and surrounding areas to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and support long-term mobility.
In the coming weeks, crews are anticipated to install signs within the corridor, perform striping activities, perform k-rail placement, and clearing and grubbing activities. More information will be provided in following alerts.
Nighttime lane closures on EB and WB SR-91 are anticipated to occur regularly throughout construction. At least one lane will be open to traffic at all times, unless otherwise specified.

91 Express Lanes Closures:
The following nighttime closures of the 91 Express Lanes will occur between SR-55/Tustin Avenue and the Orange County/Riverside County line.
WB 91 Express Lanes:
As early as 9 p.m., Saturday, April 4 to 5 a.m., Sunday, April 5
EB 91 Express Lanes:
As early as 11 p.m., Friday, April 3 to 7 a.m., Saturday, April 4

Overview
The SR-91 (SR-57 to SR-55) Improvement Project will improve 6.6 miles of State Route 91 (SR-91) through Anaheim, Fullerton, Orange, Placentia and Yorba Linda. The project will improve mobility throughout the corridor, reduce weaving and merging between ramps, and improve on- and off-ramps. The project will reconstruct the La Palma Avenue, Kraemer Boulevard/Glassell Street, Tustin Avenue and Lakeview Avenue bridges and interchanges with standard lanes, shoulders and sidewalks in each direction.
