Presidents Day Holiday

In observance of the Presidents Day Holiday, there will be no closures from Friday, Feb. 13 through Monday, Feb. 16. Closures will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Segment 1: Lakeview to SR-55

New Lakeview Configuration Beginning March 2

Starting at 5 a.m., Monday, March 2 motorists traveling both northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) on Lakeview Avenue will use a new signalized intersection to access the westbound (WB) SR-91 straight on-ramp.


Beginning as early as 9 p.m. on March 1, the WB SR-91 loop on-ramp at Lakeview Avenue will be permanently closed.

  • NB motorists will turn left at the signal to access the on-ramp
  • SB motorists will turn right at the signal

Upcoming 55-Hour Closure

55-Hour Closure

In preparation for the new interchange configuration, crews are anticipated to perform construction activities that will require a continuous 55-hour closure starting as early as 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27 to 5 a.m., Monday, March 2 of the following:



  • WB SR-91 straight on-ramp at Lakeview Avenue
  • All lanes of SB Lakeview
  • One lane of northbound NB Lakeview


Potential impacts may include back up alarms from construction vehicles, bright lights, noise, and traffic delays.This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

Lakeview Avenue Bridge Construction

Progress at the Lakeview Avenue Bridge

Crews are beginning to set up falsework, or temporary support structures, to prepare for the next phase of construction. In addition, crews are preparing for girder, steel support beams, installation which will occur in March 2026.

Project Wall Activities

Along WB SR-91 On-Ramp at Lakeview

Crews are expected to continue daily work on the sound wall starting as early as 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The new sound wall along the WB SR-91 on-ramp is anticipated to be complete by mid-2026.


TONIGHT, Friday, Feb. 13 as early as 6 p.m. to 4 a.m., crews are anticipated to perform pavement grinding activities along the WB SR-91 On-Ramp at Lakeview.

Along EB SR-91 On-Ramp at Lakeview

Crews have been forming and pouring the retaining wall along the EB SR-91 on-ramp. Crews are also making progress preparing the area for the foundation of the new bridge.

Segment 2: SR-55 to SR-57

Construction on Segment 2 of the SR-91 Improvement Project is expected to begin in mid-2026.

Segment 3: SR-57 Interchange

Construction on Segment 3 of the SR-91 Improvement Project is expected to begin in February 2026, bringing major upgrades to the SR-91/SR-57 interchange and surrounding areas to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and support long-term mobility.


During the week of February 16, crews are scheduled to begin putting up construction signs within the corridor. K-rail placement and clearing and grubbing activities will follow. Additional schedule updates will be shared in upcoming alerts.

Street Closures:

  • NB Lakeview Avenue between Santa Ana Canyon and WB SR-91 Off-Ramp:
  • Nightly, as early as 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17 through Thursday, Feb. 19 (into Friday morning)


Freeway and Ramp Closures:

Nighttime lane closures on EB and WB SR-91 will occur regularly throughout construction. At least one lane will be open to traffic at all times, unless otherwise specified.


  • WB SR-91 Straight On-Ramp at Lakeview Avenue
  • Nightly, as early as 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 18 and Thursday, Feb. 19 (into Friday morning)
  • WB SR-91 Loop On-Ramp at Lakeview Avenue
  • Nightly, as early as 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17 through Thursday, Feb. 19 (into Friday morning)
  • EB SR-91 On-Ramp at Lakeview Avenue
  • Nightly, as early as 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17 through Thursday, Feb. 19 (into Friday morning)
  • EB SR-91 Loop On-Ramp at Lakeview (Two-Year Closure):
  • The two-year closure started on July 7, 2025

Overview

The SR-91 (SR-57 to SR-55) Improvement Project will improve 6.6 miles of State Route 91 (SR-91) through Anaheim, Fullerton, Orange, Placentia and Yorba Linda. The project will improve mobility throughout the corridor, reduce weaving and merging between ramps, and improve on- and off-ramps. The project will reconstruct the La Palma Avenue, Kraemer Boulevard/Glassell Street, Tustin Avenue and Lakeview Avenue bridges and interchanges with standard lanes, shoulders and sidewalks in each direction.
