Crews continue construction on a new sound wall along westbound (WB) SR-91. This work will require the installation of cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piles to form the foundation. CIDH work began on Monday, July 7 and will continue as early as 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays for approximately three more weeks into early August.

Street Closures
Lakeview Avenue Closures
Crews will close northbound (NB) Lakeview to place k-rail in preparation for shore beam installation for the foundation of the new bridge. Southbound (SB) Lakeview will remain open to motorists.

Freeway and Ramp Closures
Nighttime lane closures on eastbound (EB) and WB SR-91 will occur regularly throughout construction. At least one lane will be open to traffic at all times, unless otherwise specified.

General Construction Updates
At the end of this month, work will begin in EB SR-91 under the current Lakeview Avenue bridge to construct a retaining wall to support the new bridge structure. Intermittent nightwork will be required for crews to safely perform certain activities.
Eastbound SR-91 Loop On-Ramp Closed for Approximately Two Years
The two-year closure of the EB SR-91 loop on-ramp from SB Lakeview Avenue began on Monday, July 7.
This closure is required for crews to demolish and reconstruct a retaining wall on EB SR-91 beneath the existing Lakeview bridge and construct an abutment for the new bridge.
About the Project
Overview
The SR-91 (SR-57 to SR-55) Improvement Project will improve 6.6 miles of State Route 91 (SR-91) through Anaheim, Fullerton, Orange, Placentia and Yorba Linda. The project will improve mobility throughout the corridor, reduce weaving and merging between ramps, and improve on- and off-ramps. The project will reconstruct the La Palma Avenue, Glassell Street, Tustin Avenue and Lakeview Avenue bridges and interchanges with standard lanes, shoulders and sidewalks in each direction.
