Segment 2: SR-55 to SR-57
Construction on Segment 2 of the SR-91 Improvement Project is expected to begin in late 2026.
Segment 3: SR-57 Interchange
State College Boulevard Construction Activities
Crews will continue advancing roadway, drainage, bridge, and electrical improvements throughout the Segment 3 construction zone. Work will include excavation, shoring, temporary lighting installation, traffic control implementation, barrier work, and paving preparation, with activities occurring during both daytime and nighttime hours. State College Boulevard will remain open to traffic during most operations; however, intermittent overnight lane reductions, ramp closures, connector closures, and outside lane closures on SR-91 will be required to safely accommodate ongoing construction activities.
The SR-91 bridge over State College Boulevard is being widened to improve traffic flow and safety. Initial demolition of the existing bridge and re-striping work has been completed, and crews are now advancing foundation and bridge construction activities, including shoring and excavation. Motorists should continue to expect intermittent nighttime closures of State College Boulevard, on- and off-ramps, and outside SR-91 freeway lanes as work progresses.
