Join the SR-91 Improvement Project's Outreach Team for Cone Zone Conversations, virtual "office hours" to ask questions and learn more about upcoming construction activities. Please see dates, times, and registration links listed below:
Crews are expected to fully close the westbound (WB) SR-91 between Imperial Highway and SR-55/Tustin Avenue to perform striping and overhead sign removal.
The following closures are expected to occur as early as 10 p.m., Friday, May 2 to 6 a.m., Saturday, May 3:
WB SR-91 between Imperial Highway (SR-90) and SR-55/Tustin
WB SR-91 on-ramps at Imperial Highway
WB SR-91 on- and off-ramps at Lakeview Avenue
WB SR-91 connector to southbound (SB) SR-55
Nighttime lane closures on eastbound (EB) and WB SR-91 will take place regularly throughout the duration of the project, at least one lane will be open to traffic at all times, unless otherwise specified. Please visit the projectGoogle Mapfor lane closure information.
91 Express Lanes Closures
The following nighttime closures of the 91 Express Lanes will occur between SR-55/Tustin Avenue and the Orange County/Riverside County line to facilitate striping, k-rail placement and overhead sign removal. Drivers will be directed to use the regular lanes and exit or re-enter the 91 Express Lanes at the county line.
The EB and WB SR-91 Express Lanes are anticipated to close as early as 11 p.m., Friday, May 2 to 7 a.m., Saturday, May 3
The EB SR-91 Express Lanes are anticipated to close as early as 11 p.m. Friday, May 9 to 7 a.m. Saturday, May 10
Sound Wall Activities
Now starting as early as the week of May 4, crews are expected to demolish the existing sound wall and rebuild a new sound wall along the WB SR-91 on-ramp at Lakeview Avenue to accommodate construction of a new on-ramp from Lakeview directly to SB SR-55.
Sound wall work at this location will be ongoing for approximately 12 months.
Vegetation Removal
Vegetation removal at the SR-91/Lakeview Avenue interchange is ongoing and expected to continue during the week of May 4.
Work is anticipated to take place during daytime hours behind k-rail.

About the Project
Overview
The SR-91 (SR-57 to SR-55) Improvement Project will improve 6.6 miles of State Route 91 (SR-91) through Anaheim, Fullerton, Orange, Placentia and Yorba Linda. The project will improve mobility throughout the corridor, reduce weaving and merging between ramps, and improve on- and off-ramps. The project will reconstruct the La Palma Avenue, Glassell Street, Tustin Avenue and Lakeview Avenue bridges and interchanges with standard lanes, shoulders and sidewalks in each direction.
