CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES

With construction activities underway, crews may begin implementing the following preliminary measures in the coming weeks to support upcoming work and ensure traffic safety and awareness:

  • Traffic Control Devices: Crews will install traffic control devices throughout the project area, including cones, barricades, and detour and temporary speed reduction signage, to safely guide motorists in the construction zones.

As part of the upcoming work, you may notice the following preliminary construction activities in your area*:

  • Temporary Striping: Crews will install temporary pavement markings; nightly full ramp closures are anticipated so crews can safely perform this work. More information will be provided in a future alert.

  • Vegetation Removal and Earthwork: Crews will remove vegetation and perform grading activities to allow crews safe access to the work area.

  • Utility Location and Surveying: Crews will take measurements and mark the ground to confirm exact locations for the work. Small, carefully controlled test holes (also called potholing) may be dug to safely locate existing underground utilities such as water, gas, or electrical lines.

*Nighttime lane closures on NB SR-57 will occur regularly throughout construction.

Speed Limit/Safety Reminder: Please look out for posted speed limit and traffic control signs. Slow down within construction work zones, for the safety of motorists and crews.
