Greetings,
The summer time is quickly approaching us, and we here at Constructing Hope are excited for what’s ahead!
2022 marks Constructing Hope’s 15th Anniversary as a state certified pre-apprenticeship training program. This milestone is a testament to the work our graduates, volunteers, donors and supporters have done, and continue to do. It is with your support that we’ve been able to provide pre-apprenticeship training, life skills coaching and career support services to over 1000 low income and justice impacted individuals since 2007.
We are thankful for each and every person who has supported Constructing Hope over the years. Whether you participated in the program, volunteered, sent a family member to the program, donated money and supplies or lent your expertise for the betterment of the organization, we’d like to say thank you! We hope you’ll join us October 6 to celebrate Constructing Hope’s journey!
We are also pleased to announce that our Summer Youth Construction Camp is back, kicking off on July 11. The camp is being held for (up to 25) 16-19 year olds looking to learn about careers in the construction industry. This year's camp is made possible thanks to our partnership with the City of Portland Summerworks paid internship program, hosted by Northwest College Of Construction with curriculum developed by the Blueprint Foundation. Orientation is on June 28, so if you know any youth that may be interested, please have them email Will.
Additionally, our 2021 adult pre-apprenticeship graduates have had a 100% job placement rate. 50 individuals have been placed in either an apprenticeship program or started a job with a respective employer in the construction industry. This is the work we are the most proud of, and we couldn't do it without the support of our community! So again, we thank you all!
With gratitude,
