Hillsboro Recovery Center Construction Update

It’s hard to believe, but construction on our Hillsboro location is almost complete! The past few months have seen an amazing transformation of the site with carpeting installed, painting complete, installation of the center hub planter, and new landscaping outside. The building itself is almost ready; now it’s time to start focusing on the furnishings and technology systems.

In late May, staff from County Behavioral Health and the Hawthorn Walk-In Center will begin moving their belongings to the new space. Beginning June 2, the building will officially open with limited services of the Hawthorn Walk-In Center and County Behavioral Health. In July, Solutions Group NW, Project Homeless Connect, and the Mental Health and Addictions Association of Oregon will begin providing services onsite, marking the broader opening of the community services portion of the CATT. This fall, we will welcome Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, see below for more information!

Beaverton Recovery Center Construction Continues

Construction on our Beaverton CATT location is humming right along! This site has two buildings, an existing building that is being heavily renovated, and a brand-new addition connected by a breezeway. The existing building is several steps ahead, with sheetrock and flooring installed. A new commercial kitchen is going in and mechanical systems are nearly complete. This part of the Beaverton site will wrap up first.

The new addition is coming together with walls framed and the roof and windows installed. The addition is still receiving its wiring, plumbing and insulation, and the elevator installation is just about complete. Soon, the exterior siding on the building will be complete, giving us a real view of what the site will look like when it is operational in November.

Virginia Garcia Joins the CATT

From the beginning of the project, the program development work group envisioned integrating health services at the CATT to help people access care they often don’t receive. Last year, we partnered with Bridge Connections Strategic Consulting to bring together various health care professionals, health care funders and other stakeholders for a visioning session. The goal was to identify key gaps in health care for individuals who struggle with substance use and develop possible models to address these gaps.

Following this visioning work, we decided to focus on reproductive health, immunizations and care coordination to help connect people with primary care services. Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, a long-time partner of Washington County, agreed to join the project to provide these services at the CATT. Not only will this help our community members receive much needed health care, but it also supports our vision of adding culturally responsive services within the CATT. We are delighted to have Virginia Garcia on our CATT team and look forward to working together to support our community!
