2026 FOCUS: INSPECTION

Fall protection equipment inspections are one of the most overlooked inspections done on the job site.

Fall protection equipment must be inspected before each use by the person wearing it. This is outlined in OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.140 and OSHA Standard 1926.502(d)(21). In addition to these daily inspections,OSHA also requires periodic evaluations by a competent person. These more formal and documented inspections must occur at least once a year, or more frequently depending on the environment or manufacturer’s recommendation.

This Safety Week, we’re reinforcing the importance of proper inspection and accountability — because consistent checks don’t just meet requirements, they prevent incidents. Let’s continue building a culture of safety — together.

THE MARR CENTER for SAFETY TRAINING is pleased to provide the following resources to help you and your workforce access high-quality education and training materials.
