8 construction trends to watch in 2018  - Construction companies are anticipating an even stronger year than 2017, with the majority planning to expand their staffs, according to a survey by Dodge Data & Analytics. As professionals seek to map out 2018 and beyond, here are eight trends shaping the construction industry.
 
Workers' comp rates in Mass. to decline in 2018  (via Associated General Contractors of MA) - In a rare and unusual move, the State Workers' Compensation Rating & Inspection Bureau has filed for a statewide average rate decrease of 11.1% for 2018. The state Division of Insurance will make its final determination before new rates take effect on July 1st.

A new approach to lease accounting: will you be ready? (via RBF Knowledge Center) - From real estate leases to vehicle and equipment contracts, leases are a fact of business life in the construction industry. Which is why RBF partner Vinny Botta  warns in his article that company executives need to be aware of an important accounting change looming on the horizon.
