EL TORO ROAD FULL NIGHTLY CLOSURE

El Toro Road, between Avenida de la Carlota and Rockfield Boulevard, will be closed nightly, Thursday, Aug. 25 and Friday, Aug. 26 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for restriping and shifting traffic to the inside lanes. In addition, northbound El Toro off-ramp, northbound loop on-ramp and northbound direct on-ramp are closed, as well as southbound El Toro on-ramp. Detours will be posted. Eastbound sidewalk and pedestrian access will continue to be closed, please use sidewalk on the westbound side. 


WHEN:

  • Thursday, Aug. 25 and Friday, Aug. 26, nightly, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Nightly closure of El Toro, (Carlota - Rockfield)
  • Northbound El Toro off-ramp, loop on-ramp and direct on-ramp closure
  • Southbound direct on-ramp closure
  • Lane restriping work and to the inside lanes
  • Electronic message boards
  • Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists


The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

EL TORO ROAD RETAINING WALL COMPLETED

Crews completed the northbound I-5 retaining wall at El Toro Road and lanes have been restriped on Bridger Road. We thank residents for their patience during the construction.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.
