Extended closure of Alicia Parkway NB straight on-ramp continues through Wednesday

• Motorists entering and exiting the I-5 freeway at Alicia Parkway will notice the extended closure of the Alicia Parkway NB straight on-ramp, which continues until 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

• Additional ramp work will occur at Alicia Parkway on and off-ramps throughout the week, starting at 10 p.m. nightly and continuing through 5 a.m. Friday.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• NB I-5 lane closures/reductions from Crown Valley Parkway to Oso Parkway and Alicia Parkway to El Toro Road nightly this week starting at 8 p.m.

• SB I-5 lane closures/reductions from El Toro Road to Crown Valley Parkway nightly this week starting at 8 p.m..

•  Full closure of Alicia Parkway NB straight on-ramp until Wednesday, 5 a.m.



• Nightly ramp closures throughout the project corridor, starting at 10 p.m., ending 5 a.m. Friday.

Signs will be in place to assist motorists. Plan for additional travel time overnight this week. As always, the schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

CLOSURES TO KNOW, BEFORE YOU HIT THE ROAD

Activity expected in September

On September 18, the I-5 Outreach Team will be presenting an update presentation to the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce.

In mid-September, an overnight full freeway closure will be required at the I-5 and Los Alisos to maximize safety and productive as nighttime crews over a dozen large-scale steel beams over the freeway, thus setting the stage for completion of the new Los Alisos Boulevard westbound bridge.

Throughout September, paving crews will require intermittent nighttime closures at southbound ramps at La Paz Road and Avery Parkway. This paving work is key to reconstructing and improving both these key interchanges.

More information on these activities and impacts to motorists and residents will be shared.
