SOUTHBOUND I-5 LANE SHIFT

OSO PARKWAY TO AVERY PARKWAY

Crews are set to shift lanes on southbound I-5 from south of Oso Parkway to Avery Parkway, July 20-22, requiring nightly lane closures.


This traffic shift will create a safe work zone for crews to continue mainline work near Crown Valley Parkway and Avery Pkwy.

WHAT TO EXPECT:


  • Moving k-rail and restriping roadway
  • Lane reductions on southbound I-5 between Oso and Avery
  • Plan for additional travel time through the area

PROJECT MILESTONE



Crews recently completed Stage 2 bridge demolition work at La Paz Road as shown above in an aerial view of the activity. 


Crews also completed the structural phase for the retaining wall/sound wall along southbound I-5 between Alicia Parkway and La Paz. The next phase will include final drainage work. Landscaping will be completed by Caltrans following completion of freeway improvement project.


UPCOMING RAMP CLOSURES

CROWN VALLEY, OSO AND LA PAZ

Ramp closures will occur this week at Crown Valley Parkway, Oso Parkway and and La Paz Road, Monday, July 11, through Saturday, July 16, for k-rail placement, grinding operations and miscellaneous work. Please watch for detour signage and view our closure chart below.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.
