NORTHBOUND I-5 EL TORO ROAD OFF-RAMP

TRAFFIC SHIFT

Closure of northbound I-5 El Toro Road Off-Ramp


The northbound I-5 El Toro Rd. off-ramp will be closed from 11 p.m., Friday, July 7 to 5 a.m., Saturday, July 8, to allow crews to safely restripe lanes and shift traffic on northbound I-5 between Alicia Pkwy. and El Toro Rd.


The traffic shift will put the ramp in its final stage, with motorists utilizing the new two-lane configuration for the off-ramp with the additional lane. Motorists will also experience a smoother ride on the new rubberized roadway which helps absorb road noise.

UPCOMING WEEKEND FULL CLOSURE

SOUTHBOUND I-5 ALICIA PARKWAY

ON-AND OFF-RAMPS

Crews will be closing the southbound I-5 Alicia Pkwy. loop and straight on-ramps for paving and restriping work July 14 – 17. In addition, southbound Alicia Pkwy. off-ramp will be closed nightly. Signs will be in place to assist motorists with detours.


WHEN:

  • 11 p.m. Friday, July 14 to 5 a.m. Monday, July 17



WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Southbound I-5 at Alicia Pkwy. loop and straight on-ramps closed. Ramps will reopen 5 a.m. Monday, July 17
  • Southbound I-5 lane reductions from El Toro Rd. to Alicia Pkwy.
  • Southbound I-5 Alicia Pkwy. off-ramp closed nightly
  • Signage will be in place to assist motorists with detours
  • Motorists should use La Paz Rd. or El Toro Rd. as detours
  • Plan for additional travel time

NIGHTLY LANE REDUCTIONS

EL TORO ROAD

Crews will be conducting bridge work at El Toro Rd. requiring nightly eastbound lane reductions between Rockfield Blvd. and Avenida De La Carlota. Detours will be in place to assist motorists.

  • Nightly, July 5-7, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.



WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Nightly eastbound El Toro Rd. lane reductions between Rockfield Blvd. and Avenida De La Carlota
  • Signage will be in place to assist motorists

In observance of Independence Day, there will be no closures July 3-4. Please drive safely and enjoy the holiday.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.
