UPCOMING CLOSURES, KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

FULL CLOSURE I-5 -

LOS ALISOS BRIDGE DEMOLITION

As part of the I-5 South County Improvements Project, crews will demolish the west side of the Los Alisos Boulevard bridge over I-5. The reconstruction of the bridge is required to accommodate new northbound and southbound freeway lanes as well as to enhance the bridge lanes, bicycle facilities and sidewalks.

WHEN:

• Saturday, May 20, 2023, 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. (lane reductions beginning as early as 8 p.m.)

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Nighttime demolition of west side of Los Alisos bridge
• Full closure of northbound and southbound I-5 from Alicia Pkwy. to El Toro Rd.
• Northbound I-5 on-ramp closures at Oso Pkwy., La Paz Rd. and Alicia Pkwy. beginning at 9 p.m.
• Southbound I-5 on-ramp closure at El Toro Rd.
• Full closure of Los Alisos Blvd. from Rockfield Blvd. to Ave. De La Carlota
• Northbound I-5 motorists will be detoured off the freeway at La Paz Rd. and Alicia Pkwy. off-ramps
• Southbound I-5 motorists will be detoured off the freeway at El Toro Rd.

The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues. 

AVERY PARKWAY FULL CLOSURE

Nighttime Full Closure of

Avery Parkway at I-5

Crews are conducting bridge work on the I-5 bridge over Avery Pkwy. The work requires a nighttime full closure on Avery Pkwy. between Camino Capistrano and Marguerite Pkwy. on Wednesday, May 17 starting as early as 11 p.m. and ending by 4 a.m.

WHEN:

• Wednesday, May 17, 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Nighttime closure of Avery Pkwy. at I-5
• Signs will be in place to assist motorists with detours
• Plan for additional travel time through the area
