Alicia Parkway southbound off-ramp and southbound loop on-ramp will be closed this weekend from 11 p.m. Friday, May 20, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 23 for roadway work. Please follow detour signage for alternate routes.


WHEN:

  • 11 p.m. Friday, May 20, through 5 a.m. Monday, May 23.



WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Southbound Alicia Pkwy. off-ramp and loop on-ramp closures
  • Nightly lane reductions on southbound I-5 between El Toro Rd. and Alicia Pkwy.
  • Weekend lane reductions on westbound Alicia Pkwy.
  • Electronic message boards
  • Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists

UPCOMING NORTHBOUND I-5

TRAFFIC SHIFT

A traffic shift along northbound I-5 will occur at 8 p.m., Friday, May 20 to 8 a.m. Saturday, May 21 between Oso Parkway and Alicia Parkway. This work is required so that construction crews can move K-rail and restripe the northbound lanes. This is a great milestone for the project and coincides with the newly opened northbound La Paz Road loop on-ramp. This shift also creates a safe work zone for crews to demo and reconstruct the middle section of the La Paz Rd. bridge.


WHEN:

  • 8 p.m. Friday, May 20, through 8 a.m. Saturday, May 21


WHAT TO EXPECT:


  • Restriping of roadway
  • Lane reductions on northbound and southbound I-5 between Oso Pkwy. and Alicia Pkwy.
  • Closures of northbound La Paz Rd. off-ramp, straight on-ramp and loop on-ramp
  • Electronic message boards
  • Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists
  • Plan for additional travel time through the area

NIGHTLY CLOSURES EL TORO ROAD RAMPS

Nightly ramp closures will occur at I-5 and El Toro Road beginning Wednesday, May 18 to Friday, May 20, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please watch for detour signage and reduce your speed in the construction area.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.
