PROJECT MILESTONE

LOS ALISOS BRIDGE DEMOLITION COMPLETE

Crews completed the demolition of the west side of the Los Alisos Boulevard bridge over I-5, opening the freeway, ramps and roadway on time Sunday morning.


While the construction teams work reconstructing the final span of the bridge, motorists will maintain access on Los Alisos Blvd. The reconstruction of the bridge is required to accommodate new northbound and southbound freeway lanes, as well as to enhance the bridge lanes, bicycle facilities, and sidewalks.


The project team would like to thank you for your patience and support during this important construction activity, with appreciation to the construction crews and first responders for their work and dedication to the project.

NORTHBOUND I-5 ALICIA PARKWAY

ON-RAMP WEEKEND CLOSURE

Crews will be closing the northbound I-5 Alicia Pkwy. on-ramp for paving work. Detours will be in place.


WHEN:

  • 11 p.m. Friday, June 2, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 5


WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Northbound I-5 Alicia Pkwy. on-ramp closed
  • On-ramp will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, June 5
  • Signs will be in place to assist motorists with detours
  • Motorists should use on-ramps at La Paz Rd. or El Toro Rd.
  • Plan for additional travel time through the area


The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues. 

MEMORIAL DAY - NO CLOSURES


Please note, there will be no road closures Friday, May 26 - Monday, May 29, due to the Memorial Day holiday. Please drive safely and enjoy the holiday weekend.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.
