VIEW CLOSURE LIST

WEEKEND CLOSURE - AVERY PARKWAY

A weekend closure of southbound Avery Pkwy. off-ramp will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 through 5 a.m., Monday, Nov. 21 for crews to conduct bridge work and switch traffic lanes.


When reconstructed, the new Avery Pkwy. interchange will nearly double in size, adding turn and thru lanes, as well as improving traffic operations.


WHEN: 

  • 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18 through 5 a.m., Monday, Nov. 21


WHAT TO EXPECT: 

  • Southbound I-5 off-ramp at Avery Pkwy. closure


The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues. 

SHORING REMOVAL

Crews will be removing shoring along northbound I-5, south of the Alicia Parkway on-ramp. Steel shoring is temporary support that holds up the hillside and allows crews to build retaining walls. The removal of this shoring clears the way for crews to finalize construction of a concrete barrier and building a new retaining wall.


WHEN:

  • Starting as early as Wednesday, Nov.16 and lasting up to three weeks



WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Daytime removal of shoring

LA PAZ ROAD CLOSURE

Crews will be installing false work for La Paz bridge requiring eastbound and westbound closures of La Paz Rd. between Cabot Rd. and Muirlands Blvd. Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 22, nightly 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.



WHEN:

  • Nightly closures, 11 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 22



WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Road closures between Cabot Rd. and Muirlands Blvd
  • Please follow detour signage

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.
