LA PAZ ROAD CLOSURE

AND LANE REDUCTIONS

Crews continue work on La Paz bridge improvements requiring a closure and lane reductions between Cabot Rd. and Muirlands Blvd. There will be a full closure Monday, Nov. 28, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and lane reductions will occur Tuesday, Nov. 29 through Friday, Dec. 2, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.



WHEN:

  • Monday, Nov. 28, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. (full closure)
  • Tuesday, Nov. 29 through Friday, Dec. 1, nightly, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. (lane reductions)



WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Road closure between Cabot Rd. and Muirlands Blvd. (Monday)
  • Lane reductions between Cabot Rd. and Muirlands Blvd. (Tuesday - Friday)
  • Please follow detour signage


The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operations issues.

EL TORO ROAD - NIGHTLY RAMP CLOSURES

Nightly ramp closures will occur at El Toro Rd. and the I-5 this week for electrical work. Please watch for detour signage and reduce your speed in the construction area.



WHEN: 

  • Monday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Dec. 2, nightly closures 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.


WHAT TO EXPECT: 

  • Northbound direct and loop on-ramp closures (Monday - Friday)
  • Northbound off-ramp (Wednesday)
  • Southbound on-ramp closures (Wednesday - Friday)
  • Electronic message boards
  • Detour signage will be in place to assist motorists

AVERY PARKWAY OFF-RAMP TRAFFIC SHIFT

Project Milestone!

Crews recently completed the bridge demolition work at Avery Pkwy. and have now shifted the I-5 southbound Avery Pkwy. off-ramp slightly to the west, providing crews a safe work zone to reconstruct the new bridge structure. The OCTA team will continue to share progress as the team moves closer to completion of Avery Pkwy. bridge improvements.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.

OCTA and Caltrans are working together to improve freeway capacity and operations on a 6.5-mile stretch of I-5 from SR-73 to El Toro Road in south Orange County. This voter-approved $580-million project will:
