EXTENDED RAMP CLOSURES

Nine-day closure of I-5 NB straight on-ramp and 55-hour closure of I-5 NB loop on-ramp from El Toro Road

El Toro Road NB Straight On-ramp

WHAT:

The I-5 El Toro Road northbound straight on-ramp will be closed for roadway reconstruction starting Oct. 23. The ramp will be closed for nine days.

Additionally, the I-5 El Toro Road northbound loop on-ramp will be closed for a 55-hour weekend closure starting Oct. 27.

WHEN:

I-5 El Toro Road northbound straight on-ramp closed

1 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23 - 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1

I-5 El Toro Road northbound loop on-ramp closed

11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 - 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30

Plan for additional travel time through the area.

Detour signs will be in place to assist motorists.

The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.

OCTA and Caltrans are working together to improve freeway capacity and operations on a 6.5-mile stretch of I-5 from SR-73 to El Toro Road in south Orange County. This voter-approved $580-million project will:
