SOUTHBOUND I-5 LANE SHIFT

CROWN VALLEY PARKWAY TO

AVERY PARKWAY

Crews are set to shift traffic lanes on southbound I-5 from south of Crown Valley Pkwy. to SR-73, Oct. 21-22, requiring nightly lane closures.

This traffic shift will create a safe work zone for crews to construct the third and final stage of Avery Pkwy. bridge, and continue mainline work near Avery Pkwy. Southbound Crown Valley Pkwy. on-ramp and Avery Pkwy. off- and on-ramp will also be closed nightly, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday, Oct.21 and Saturday, Oct. 22.

WHEN:

Friday, Oct. 21, 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 22, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Moving k-rail and restriping roadway
Lane reductions southbound I-5 between Crown Valley Pkwy. and SR-73
Southbound Crown Valley Pkwy. off-ramp closure
Southbound Avery Pkwy. off- and on-ramp closures
Plan for additional travel time through the area

UPCOMING WEEKEND FULL CLOSURE NORTHBOUND CROWN VALLEY PARKWAY OFF-RAMP, LOOP ON-RAMP

Crown Valley Pkwy. northbound off-ramp and northbound loop on-ramp will have a full closure from 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31. There will also be a lane reduction on eastbound Crown Valley Pkwy.

Crews will be paving the ramps in preparation for shifting traffic to the new sections of the off-and on-ramps. Please follow detour signage for alternate routes.

WHEN:

11 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, to 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Northbound I-5 Crown Valley Pkwy. off-ramp closure
Northbound I-5 Crown Valley Pkwy. loop on-ramp closure
Eastbound lane reductions on Crown Valley Pkwy.

EL TORO ROAD LANE REDUCTIONS

Nightly lane reductions eastbound and westbound El Toro Rd. will occur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18 through Friday, Oct. 21 for bridge work.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Nightly lane reduction of El Toro Rd. from Rockfield Blvd. to Ave. De La Carlota
Signs will be in place to assist motorists with detours

WALK AGAINST DRUGS

A special shout out to Orange County Sherriff Department - Mission Viejo and the City of Mission Viejo for hosting the 34th Annual Walk Against Drugs.

The I-5 South County Improvements team was onsite, interacting with residents, and thrilled to be a part of this great community event.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.
