UPCOMING LANE REDUCTIONS THIS WEEKEND

Weekend Lane Reductions NB I-5 Between

Alicia Parkway and El Toro Road

WHAT:

Starting Friday, Sept. 22, NB I-5 Freeway lanes will be reduced between Alicia Parkway and El Toro Road. Traffic slowdowns may result.

WHEN:

8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 - 6 a.m., Monday, Sept. 25

WHAT TO EXPECT:

55-hour weekend reductions of northbound I-5 lanes between Alicia Parkway and El Toro Road.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Plan for additional travel time through the area.

The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

UPCOMING EXTENDED CLOSURE

Weekend/Nine-Day Ramp Closures at

El Toro Road and La Paz Road

WHAT:

Starting Friday, Sept. 22, crews will reconstruct the NB loop and straight on-ramps at El Toro Road, requiring a weekend closure of both ramps and up to nine days for the NB loop on-ramp.

The SB straight on-ramp at La Paz Road will also be closed from Sept. 22 - Oct. 2.

Plan for additional travel time through the area.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Safe and direct detours will be in place.

The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

On Monday, Sept. 18 - Sunday, Sept. 24, expect overnight freeway lane closures and reductions, ramp closures and street closures.

Plan for additional travel time, especially overnight.

WHAT TO EXPECT: I-5 LANE CLOSURES/REDUCTIONS

NORTHBOUND I-5

Nightly lane closures/reductions from:

SR-73 to Oso Parkway starting as early as 8 p.m.
Alicia Parkway to El Toro Road starting as early as 8 p.m.

SOUTHBOUND I-5

Nightly lane closures/reductions from:

El Toro Road to Alicia Parkway starting as early as 8 p.m.
Oso Parkway to SR-73 starting as early as 10 p.m.

Night lane closure on Sept. 20 from:

Alicia Parkway to Oso Parkway starting as early as 10 p.m.

WHAT TO EXPECT: I-5 RAMP CLOSURES

RAMP CLOSURES

Nightly ramp closures at:

Crown Valley Parkway, Oso Parkway, La Paz Road, Alicia Parkway and El Toro Road starting as early as 10 p.m.

Nightly ramp closure on Sept 22 at:

Avery Parkway starting as early as 9 p.m.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Signs will be in place to assist motorists.

Plan for additional travel time overnight this week.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project, which spans the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel, is expected to be completed in 2025.
