Construction Update
Chelsea-Thetford STP 2955(1)

[VT Route 113 Resurfacing Project]
DATE: Friday, June 4, 2021

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: Monday, June 7 through Friday, June 11, between the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM, motorists should expect lane closures with alternating one-way traffic on VT-113 between Chelsea and Thetford.

Construction vehicles will be pulling into the lane closures. Please give these vehicles plenty of space and “DO NOT FOLLOW” them into the lane closures.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will be installing underdrain next week. Underdrain is used to lower the water table under the roadway, thereby strengthening the roadbed and reducing the effects of frost heaving. The underdrain will be installed along the edge of the roadway at a depth of 5 feet where adequate ditching cannot be attained. This project will have a total installed length of approximately 32,000 linear feet or 6 miles of underdrain.

A survey crew will also be working along the VT-113 to determine locations for roadway adjustments.
Underdrain work continues on VT-113
LOCATION: Beginning on VT Route 113 at the intersection with VT Route 110 in the Town of Chelsea, extending easterly for 14.824 miles, through the Towns of Vershire and West Fairlee, to the intersection with VT Route 244 in the Town of Thetford.
