LVRT CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: March 2023
PROJECT TYPE: Rail to Trail Conversion
PROJECT LOCATION: LVRT Rail Trail Corridor
PROJECT UPDATES: The LVRT is mostly complete and now open to the public! Although all sections are accessible, there are some tasks left that could potentially affect trail use after the winter season. The sections of the trail that were being worked on during the winter, including the slide in Wolcott and flood prevention in Fairfield and Fletcher, will require some surface modifications and grading once the snow has melted away. Keep in mind that these segments may be temporarily closed while these necessary adjustments are made. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in making the LVRT a safer and more enjoyable trail for everyone to use.

At present, the Fisher Bridge in Wolcott is not accessible to the public due to ongoing construction. However, it is expected to be open for use by Memorial Day. Please pay attention to the posted signs along the trail to ensure a safe experience.
During the mud season, VTrans does not officially close the trail, but please be aware that the trail conditions will vary as the snow melts and the surface dries out. For your safety, please exercise caution or consider delaying your use of the LVRT if you come across soft, wet, or muddy areas. Using the trail during such conditions could leave footprints or tire tracks, potentially damaging the trail and making it less enjoyable for future users.
