My friends in Christ,
Today we have officially turned the keys to the Hyland Center over to the contractors! Celebrating our last Easter Mass in the gym was bittersweet but I am excited that we are starting construction on the long awaited new Hyland Center.
Beginning today, the Hyland Center parking lot will be closed for construction. The alley will remain open after school hours and on the weekends. A portion of the blacktop will remain available for pedestrian access, including access to the d'Youville chapel and the playground. For Mass, PSR, recreation, and other events, please park in the deck across from the Cathedral.
In addition, the construction fencing will encompass the sidewalk on E. Wesley and will be closed to all pedestrian traffic. Please help us continue to be good neighbors and utilize the parking deck as much as possible, do not drop-off on E. Wesley or Peachtree Way.
I appreciate your patience and cooperation as we endure any inconveniences. I ask that you keep this project in your prayers. There will be plenty of activity happening on campus over the next year and a half. It may take a while for you to see progress from the outside of the Hyland Center, but the contractors will be working hard to salvage and recycle as much as possible - from the gym floor to the limestone!
Yours in Christ,
