Southern California's Center of Excellence for Veterinary Care is Expanding

February 2025

The UC Veterinary Medical Center, San Diego has operated as a satellite facility of the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital for more than 20 years. This center of excellence will be expanding into a state-of-the-art facility (Janice K. Hobbs UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center Southern California) in 2026.

Progress on the New Center

We are excited to report that construction will begin soon, following a competitive design/build bidding process. After careful review, global architecture firm Safdie Rabines and premier builder Swinerton were selected to lead the project. UC Davis Design and Construction Management will oversee its progress.

Check out what the front entrance will look like and learn more about the design/build team!

Thanks to philanthropic partners, the center will have state-of-the-art equipment and spaces needed to provide the specialized, compassionate care that UC Davis veterinary medicine is known for. Make a gift to the center to be a part of this transformational impact for Southern California veterinary care. To learn more about how you can get involved, email Sasha Wirth, Executive Director of Development, or call (530) 383-1273.
