Greetings Residents of Westfield

November 2023 - Newsletter 6

We are thrilled to bring you the latest updates on the construction activities happening within our community.

Keeping the community informed about the status of a new school construction project brings numerous benefits. It fosters transparency and trust between the school district and community members, ensuring that everyone is on the same page regarding the project's goals and progress. This transparency allows for open communication, enhances collaboration, reduces misunderstandings, and strengthens the sense of unity within the community.

As November wraps us in its cozy embrace, we're absolutely delighted to open our hearts and provide you with a genuinely personal update on the construction journey unfolding right here in our community. Our extraordinary construction team isn't just building structures; they're weaving the very dreams of our education professionals and the amazing scholars who will attend the new school.

  • Site Utilities:

We continue to lay the groundwork for our shared spaces, ensuring the heartbeat of our community stays strong.

  • Site Electrical:

November sees us threading the pathways of power, installing secondary and generator conduits for a community that lights up our lives.

  • Metal Stud Framing:

Within these walls, stories are unfolding as interior and exterior metal stud framing takes shape, creating the canvas for our shared tales.

  • Air and Vapor Barrier (AVB):

Think of the AVB as a warm hug for our structures, ensuring they stay snug and energy-efficient throughout the cooler days of November.

  • Mechanical Systems:

Our community's heartbeat is its climate, and we're fine-tuning it with mechanical ductwork and VAV systems, creating spaces that breathe with us.

  • Sanitary and Domestic Piping:

Efforts are being directed towards the installation of sanitary and domestic piping, crucial for the proper functioning of plumbing systems.

  • Roofing:

The roofing phase has commenced, with teams working diligently to provide secure and durable roofing for our community buildings.

  • Electrical Systems:

The installation of electrical MC cable and electrical metal tubing (EMT) is in progress, a vital step in ensuring a reliable and safe electrical infrastructure.

  • Masonry:

Bricks are being laid, piece by piece, shaping not just buildings but the character of our community.

  • Fireproofing:

In November's chill, we're continuing to add thorough fireproofing measures, ensuring safety is our top priority.

  • Fire Protection Piping:

Next Tuesday marks the beginning of a new chapter as we weave a safety net with the installation of fire protection piping.

  • Stair Installation:

Climbing the steps of progress, we've installed stairs in Towers C and D, providing pathways for our community to ascend together.
