Construction begins on 16-unit apartment building in East Providence

Construction has started on the Residences at Riverside Square in East Providence. The development will create 16 new affordable rental apartments for extremely low- to moderate-income households, three of which will be reserved for youth aging out of foster care.

The apartment building, at the former Vamco site at 336 Bullocks Point Avenue, will feature a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments.

COMMUNITY HEALTH

ONE|NB has launched a 5-week Pre-Apprenticeship program for Central Providence residents interested in careers as Community Health Workers. The program provides 40 hours of instruction alongside connections with mentors across health care and social service agencies in the community. Pre-Apprentices earn $1,000 and a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the program and have the opportunity to enroll in a Registered CHW Apprenticeship Program.
