PAVING FOR PROGRESS
14th Avenue SE

Construction Update: 9-12-17

Thank you for your patience during this summer's construction activity. We wanted to provide you with an update on the project's timeline.

Excavation for the 14th Avenue SE project has revealed unanticipated underground utility conflicts. While none of these conflicts will prevent the project's completion, construction will take longer than initially expected.

Construction on the section from 38th to 39th Streets is complete. The remainder of the year will be spent finishing the section from 36th to 38th Streets. Conservatively, work may continue as late as mid-November, depending on weather.

The contractor is presently working on utility installations, and will finish the year with paving. Intersections along this stretch will be opened as soon as work and safety allow. We anticipate all closures will be lifted for the duration of winter, and full access restored.

Looking Ahead

Work on the final segment from 39th to 42nd Streets will begin as early as the weather permits in spring. We anticipate construction will be complete by summer 2018.

We will continue to keep the neighborhood informed of the project's schedule and any additional changes. Staff remains available to continue taking feedback on the project, as well as working individually with residents on issues specific to their property.

If you have any questions on the updated timeline, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
