Governor Edwards Creates Resilient Louisiana Commission

[4.16.2020] Gov. John Bel Edwards announced the creation of Resilient Louisiana, a state commission charged with examining Louisiana's economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic and making recommendations for more resilient business-related activities and commerce in the coming months. The 18-member panel includes Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, and will be co-chaired by Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Don Pierson and health care leader Terrie Sterling, a Baton Rouge consultant and retired Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System executive.

Announced 4.16.20: Currently SBA has issued a Lapse in Appropriations Notice. SBA is unable to accept new applications at this time for the Paycheck Protection Program or the Economic Injury Disaster Loan COVID-19 related assistance program (including EIDL Advances) based on available appropriations funding.

Community Grant Program
Wick Communications, a family-owned multi-media company and parent company of The Daily Iberian and Acadiana Lifestyle, has established a $500,000 Community Grant Program to assist locally owned businesses during the COVID-19 crisis.
 
Businesses may apply for a dollar-for-dollar advertising/marketing matching grant ranging from $200 to $10,000. Grants will be awarded in April, May and June. 
Regional Partner One Acadiana has compiled this toolkit for small businesses. Consult your financial advisor, accountant, or attorney in order to determine which loan(s) will be best for your business.
