Content Curation for Global-Minded Leaders
If you’ve been on my mailing list for a while, you may be wondering why you're only getting this newsletter now, half-way through the month of September. You might be thinking “Kathrin usually sends out her newsletter on the first of the month, like clockwork. What’s the delay? And where’s the #HolidayHeadsUp calendar for September?”

Well here’s what’s going on: I’ve decided to rethink the main purpose and, consequently, the format of The Worldly Marketer Newsletter.

When I first launched my Verbaccino newsletter back in August 2015, I didn't have a podcast yet. At the time, my goal was to share my own blog posts as well as any interesting articles I happened to come across, and maybe throw in some quick, actionable tips around global marketing.

Over the past couple of years, as my podcasting activities have taken up more of my time and mental bandwidth, other activities (like blogging) have taken a back seat. And my newsletter has become something I've been pulling together at the last minute (literally) on the last day of each month, with a #HolidayHeadsUp calendar as the anchor – whether it had value for my subscribers or not.

While I intend to keep publishing this newsletter on a more-or-less monthly basis, I want to focus much more on the value proposition rather than on getting it out by a certain day every month. So, among other things, I’ve decided to discontinue my #HolidayHeadsUp calendars. I feel that the time and effort it takes to create such a calendar every month can be much better spent. (Mind you, if I get a flood of emails urging me to bring back the #HolidayHeadsUp calendar, I might reconsider.)

Next month, I will re-launch this newsletter as a platform focused primarily on content curation : an annotated “best-of” list of what’s happening in the world of global branding, global marketing, and localization. I will share a curated selection of current articles, videos, podcasts, or other content that I believe is worth your time and attention.

There’s a lot of content out there, but we all know that it's not equally insightful, useful, or thought-provoking. We also know that machine algorithms don’t always serve us well when it comes to finding the best quality content on a certain topic. Therefore, my goal will be to act as a trusted "human algorithm" and present you with a thoughtfully distilled collection of truly interesting and share-worthy content. I want to make TWM Newsletter a go-to resource for busy professionals who are looking to keep up with today’s most innovative practitioners and thought-leaders on how to build a global brand in 2019 and beyond.

So stay tuned for my new curation-focused TWM Newsletter, which I'll be launching in October 2019! I sincerely hope that you’ll find greater value in this approach. If you have any comments or suggestions, I would love to hear from you. After all, I want to make TWM Newsletter a resource that you'll actually look forward to seeing in your inbox every month.

Thanks so much for being part of my Worldly Marketer community! And keep an eye out for next month's edition of the newsletter!

Cheers,

Kathrin Bussmann
Head of Verbaccino
