The book, which was first released in 1997 was re-released in 2012 with added notes, and revisions and additions, including a new foreword and epilogue and larger print. The book was taken from Jim's notes, and was compiled, edited, and added to by Kenneth Irving after Jim's death in 1995. Hi all
Welcome to the very interesting month of May where we will have three planets station retrograde within a few days of each other:
Saturn on May
11,
Venus on May 13, and
Jupiter on
May
14. I am working on the May News and Views to include information about these retrogrades so expect that in the next few days as well as more information about Master Jyotisa classes. For those of you who are new subscribers or who missed the April News and Views and wish to read it you can go read it Here
Below is the Sunday May 17 date and information for the next workshop in the Beginning Jyotisa series. If you attended April 18 and wish to continue, please register and make the payment below. I am not going to have early bird rates due to pandemic and because it is two weeks away. Price and hours will remain the same. For those who attended the first class on April 18, please remember to set aside Tuesday May 12 at 7:30 pm. for the review session. If you cannot attend live you will get the recording. I will be sending you more information on that. For those who wish to join this group and you know some of the basics you are welcome to sign up and if you would like to order the first workshop you can below as well. You can always email me for more information.
If you do wish to book a reading, you can make payment to the left and I will reach out to you with available dates and times. My next availability begins Wednesday May 20 for phone or skype. At the moment I am not making appointments for in-person readings.
And please take time if you can to look at the evening sky, where you can see Venus, which is at its brightest as an evening star since it rises and sets after the Sun. It will continue to be bright only for the next week or so since it will move closer to earth and approaches its retrograde station on May 13 where it will move closer to the Sun where it forms a conjunction or combustion on June 3 and disappears from view before it rises as the Morning Star as it rises and sets before the Sun. It will then station direct on June 25.
For those of you who I have not heard from in a while, please do not hesitate to drop me an email just to let me know how you are doing. You do not have to book a reading to let me know how you are faring.
Please continue to keep safe during this pandemic and continue to adhere to the regulations your city and state set up. It is so important to remember that the medical and scientific community will provide the answers you need. Astrologers including myself will give you our projections based on planetary cycles, but please do not base what you do in terms of travel and congregating on astrologers or other practitioners who might disagree with the best information that you will get from the scientific and medical community. I know I have repeated this but I am seeing too many astrologers providing information that may or may not work out, but we all want to be hopeful. We just do not want to ignore the facts.

This workshop will serve as the second workshop in the Beginning Level I Jyotish (Indian astrology) series. You can take this workshop and then sign up for the course or just come as a standalone. If you sign up for the entire series you will thoroughly learn Jyotisa and even some Sanskrit. Also you will be qualified to take ACVA Certification Level I, if you choose.
The class will consist of a one-day weekend workshop every 4-6 weeks. Each workshop will be the equivalent of three 1 1/2 hour classes. In between workshops there will also be a review webinar.
There will be opportunities to read supplemental material, do assignments, and review what we learned, but that is up to you. A book list will be provided once you register. The workshop will take place as a webinar, so that you can attend wherever you are. And if you cannot be present, or you can only do part of the workshop, you will receive an audio-visual presentation, audio MP3, and extensive handouts. Hopefully in the future we will be able to return to doing the workshop simultaneously in-person in New York City and as a webinar.
