The Iran war is not a religious war — stop making it out to be one
By: Jos Joseph

Article excerpts:
“One of the stories was of a military commander who told his non-commissioned officers that Trump was ‘anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.’ It would be easy to write this off as a single military commander off his rocker, who shouldn’t be in command of a U.S. military unit. But the Military Religious Freedom Foundation said they received more than 200 complaints in a couple of days from service members being told in separate instances that their military mission was key to fulfilling Christian prophecy.”
“Trump has given many excuses and moved the goalposts several times on what the exact objectives are. Many Americans are jaded about the conflict, even though we clearly have the upper hand. This is a cause of concern, because as the war evolves, there is a good chance that the objectives will change in a way suited to Christian nationalists’ beliefs.”

U.S. Military Commanders: Iran War Is GOD’S PLAN for Armageddon – Mikey Weinstein of MRFF
By: Barry Stevens
Monday, March 9, 2026
| | Show description: Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), joins Barry Stevens to discuss the alarming wave of complaints from U.S. military personnel. Over 200 service members from 50 installations have reported that commanders in their chain of command are framing the war in Iran as part of God’s divine plan to bring about the Battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming. Weinstein describes how Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth holds monthly Christian Nationalist prayer services in the Pentagon’s largest auditorium during the duty day, and how this top-down signaling is emboldening commanders to push religious ideology on their subordinates. Weinstein also confirms that some of the Christian Nationalists within the military are in positions involving nuclear weapons. | | |

Pete Hegseth wanted an ‘American Crusade.’ Now he’s leading a war in the Middle East

Article excerpt:
“The Military Religious Freedom Foundation, a nonprofit activist organization that seeks to defend the rights of servicemembers, says it has received numerous complaints in less than a month of war. Those complaints cannot be independently verified by CNN. According to MRFF founder Mikey Weinstein, a former Air Force attorney, that’s because the people making them fear retribution.
“But he said the complaints include talk among military commanders that the war on Iran is part of the end-times Bible prophecies. House Democrats have called for an investigation of the complaints.
“Weinstein told me Hegseth’s language gives the impression to the Muslim world that the US is launching its own crusade.
“‘We look exactly like a ninth version of the eight prior crusades, from the 11th through the 13th century,’ he said. ‘To Boko Haram, ISIS, the Taliban, al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, whether they are Shia or Sunni, we’re just attacking a huge Muslim nation, and all this does is serve as an immeasurable propaganda bonanza for those that we are fighting.’”

“The religious fervor has permeated much of the military as well.
“The nonprofit Military Religious Freedom Foundation put out an alarming statement on March 3 saying such, and that the organization was “inundated with complaints of gleeful commanders telling troops [the] Iran War is ‘part of God’s divine plan’ to usher in the return of Jesus Christ.” The organization reported over 200 calls from more than 50 military installations reporting similar remarks from U.S. military commanders.
“One said that ‘President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,’ according to MRFF.
“On Sunday, Hegseth told 60 Minutes correspondent Major Garrett that the ‘providence of our Almighty God is there protecting those troops’ in the Iran war."

Mikey Weinstein on End-Times Prophecy Claims Inside the U.S. Military
Wednesday, March 11, 2026

Show description: In this bonus episode of Faithful Politics, Will Wright and Pastor Josh Burtram speak with Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF), about a recent surge of complaints from service members across the country. Following the U.S. conflict with Iran, MRFF reports receiving more than 200 requests for assistance from personnel at dozens of military installations who say some commanders framed the conflict using apocalyptic Christian language and end-times themes.
Weinstein discusses what his organization uncovered, why many service members fear reporting religious coercion through official channels, and the broader constitutional concerns surrounding religious freedom and the separation of church and state within the armed forces.

Good morning Mr. Weinstein, and Mr. Farrell:
I have recently left the Army after 15 years. Who knew that the fight for freedom FROM religion would be even more important today, than when I contacted your organization years ago. Thanks to you both for your efforts in this ongoing battle.
I wanted to send you both a Challenge coin I had made up for my retirement. I gave one to all the members of my unit, and want to send one to you both with sincere gratitude. The communication I have had with you both, and the MRFF has been one of the highlights of my career. The response by the MRFF to my concerns years ago, was the first time, and the last time that I felt ‘heard’ as a soldier in the Army.
In more recent years, the Christian incursion into the wiring of the Army has become more open and unapologetic. On a recent deployment, a Christian ‘call to prayer’ was played over the PA every morning. My challenge of this practice was met with, veiled threats about ‘meeting with the Commander’. It was on that deployment that I discovered that Army Chaplains actually are not, ‘non denominational’. They have permission to inflict their particular denomination’s bigotry on soldiers as they choose when it comes down to it.
So thank you for all you have done for me and so many others! You both continue to inspire.
I will send the coins to the Albuquerque address unless you instruct otherwise.
You may recall I was deeply inspired by the MASH cast, and if possible would like to send a coin to other MASH cast that Mr. Farrell is in touch with.
So anything you can help me with in that regard is appreciated as well.
Thank you!

I don’t think Trump qualifies as a Greek and if Alexander is being reincarnated — Trump is definitely NOT him.
Also, Armageddon and the vast flow of blood, is after the Russian Confederacy, composed of Muslim countries in Northern Africa and the Middle East, attack Israel.
This is from “The Late, Great Planet Earth” by Hal Lindsey.
I think these things should be broadcast to the rank and file American to keep clear on what is happening in Iran and everything.
Fear of these things may be premature right now.
I loved seeing you and Col. Wilkerson on Katy Halperin’s show. Do you have a podcast? I love listening to your information and the Col’s.
I can’t donate right now, but Lord Willing, I will be able to soon.
Peace, Love and Power to the People, in Jesus’ Name.
