DETAILS:
On Saturday, December 18, the RCSD will continue its community call to action with a virtual gathering. Since early November, a group of RCSD stakeholders have been discussing ways to address violence in Rochester, and learning more about social-emotional and mental health for students, families, and staff.

Two initiatives have begun implementation.

  • Parents in Action: An initiative to engage parents in all aspects of their child’s education.

  • Fathers Initiating Restorative Engagement (F.I.R.E.): A pilot program at Edison Career and Technology High School and Franklin Lower and Upper Schools where fathers serve as positive role models during the school day.

To register in advance of Saturday’s community action initiative and to provide feedback and solutions on how to promote peace and reduce violence, please visit www.rcsdk12.org/caimeeting. Community voice is critical to this conversation.
