AET SUPPORTED SPACES
Academic & Emerging Technologies is happy to announce the launch of a new interactive overview of their supported spaces. This view provides faculty and staff with up-to-date room status and other information about the more than 350 spaces supported by the AET team.

Simply scroll to see all our supported rooms, or click on a room listing to see more details about the space. You can also use the Filter , Sort , and Search (magnifying glass icon) options to find spaces with specific features, or to get insight into the instructional or conference spaces.
MICROSOFT BRIEFING EMAILS
Recently, OIT enabled a new Microsoft feature that sends daily Briefing emails from [email protected].

As with other Microsoft features we have enabled for the campus in the past, you can easily opt out of Briefing emails if you choose by clicking on the link at the bottom of each email or on the page below.
ADOBE CC UPDATES
As of July 6, the Adobe CC free access offer has expired for campus faculty, students, and staff.
However, if you still need access to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, there is still time to update your license or consider purchasing a license.

Recently, the University of California entered into a new contract with Adobe which reduces the cost of Creative Cloud access to $180 per license (savings of around $80/year). The initial request for Adobe Creative Cloud license was on 6/12, but you can still get your order in through July 23 !

Existing CC users, be aware that the grace period for your current license will be from July 5 - August 4th. During this time, you can still use your copy of CC. Adobe will release our new and renewing licenses on July 23rd.

NOTE: All campus Adobe CC licenses follow the same timeline and will expire on August 4th if OIT does not received your request by July 23!

CETL: INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES FOR FALL 2020
Whether you are teaching your course entirely online or in a hybrid format in Fall, the Center for Engaged Teaching & Learning and Academic & Emerging Technologies teams have been hard at work developing and collecting resources for faculty to re-design or update fall courses with hybrid and online components.

For easy navigation, these resources are focused around 3 areas:

  1. Synchronous Resources – including opportunities to join online conversations with other faculty and workshops for using instructional technologies and building your course in CatCourses
  2. Asynchronous Resources - online, available 24/7 resources on pedagogical and instructional technologies tools and recordings from faculty on how they are using them.
  3. People and Process Resources - who to contact for what and how to get support
UC MERCED LIBRARY:
PRIMARY SOURCE CONTENT EXPANDED
The UC Merced Library has made available expanded primary sources. Previously available databases – Making of the Modern World and Periodicals Archive Online (PAO) – now include new content modules.

In addition, the library has acquired rich primary source collections in the areas of American Indian studies and Holocaust studies.
REMOTE CONNECTED FACULTY SUMMIT
Monday, July 13, 2020: 12 PM - 5 PM
Tuesday, July 14, 2020: 9 AM - 2 PM
Arizona State University's REMOTE summit on July 13 and 14 will showcase best practices, techniques, and tools to provide actionable insight to Higher Education faculty around the concept of “the best of online education.”

REMOTE will help faculty get ready for the challenge of teaching in what promises to be a complex and messy fall semester. The virtual conference will showcase master practitioners across Higher Education, providing the opportunity to see how they lead their classes online and learn best practices by discipline. Attendees can access 60+ curated sessions of 30 minutes during two 4-hour days of simultaneous learning tracks.

This virtual conference is free of charge for those involved in learning delivery (faculty and learning practitioners) as well as administration worldwide.
