OIT MAINTENANCE ALERTS & UPDATES
ZOOM MAINTENANCE
On Wednesday, August 19th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, OIT will be performing basic maintenance to our Zoom accounts.

We anticipate that this back-end maintenance should have no impact on existing UC Merced Zoom accounts. However, if you experience any issues accessing Zoom during this time, please Report a Problem at it.ucmerced.edu or call 228-HELP (4357).
UPCOMING VPN CHANGE
On Thursday, August 20 starting at 5:30 pm, OIT will be performing some basic maintenance to the UC Merced VPN service.

The first time you log in to VPN after the 20th, you'll be prompted to perform the following steps:

  1. Answer your computer's prompts and click "Yes" to download and install a new version of the VPN client
  2. Once the installation is complete, log in to the VPN client as usual

If you have any questions or issues with this process, please Report a Problem at oit.ucmerced.edu or call 228-4357 (HELP).
OIT STUDENT SERVICES PAGE
As we return to the semester in these uncertain circumstances, it's more important than ever that students can quickly and easily access our student-focused technologies and services. If you interact with students that need technology help this fall, the Student Services pages is a great starting place for them.

On this page, students can quickly learn about key services and initiatives including links to our Educational Continuity for Learning site, Remote Labs, information about software, wifi, VPN, printing and more!
DIVERSITY & INCLUSION UPDATES
REFLECTING ON ANTI-RACIST PEDAGOGY: A MULTI-PART VIRTUAL DISCUSSION SERIES
The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and the Center for Engaged Teaching and Learning are proud to present a virtual discussion series designed to help participants form a community of practice focused on improving anti-racist pedagogy. Together, we will:

  • Explore the intersection between anti-racist teaching and anti-racist pedagogy
  • Examine how our assumptions and inherent practices influence classroom practice
  • Discuss ways we can adjust those practices to be more inclusive and effective
  • Design course content that will be presented at an EDI teaching showcase in May.
  • The purpose of this series is not to give mandates and protocols but to share experiences and create a space to collaborate with peers and support personal and professional growth.

Register via the link below. After you have registered, an email will be sent to you regarding the dates and times of the event.

The Division of Undergraduate Education is pleased to announce a new email series that will be sent to all faculty weekly in the fall.

These emails will feature short tips for online teaching with video and text instructions. They will also include updates on student success data from our remote learning environments. Be on the lookout for the first email, going out next week!
