Dear Upper School Parents,

As you know, the school has made and continually updated its plans in the event of a need to pivot to distance learning, and we are ready to meet the needs of our students as they begin their two-week distance learning period. Below you will find key information for the continuity of learning for Upper School courses.

Key Points and Requirements for Upper School Distance Learning:
  • Your daughter will receive a daily email from Mrs. Irwin and is expected to attend her HMRM/Advisory period every day.
  • All students will be expected to attend synchronous virtual classes on Google Meet in accordance with our regular daily schedule. The day begins at 7:55 a.m. tomorrow, Monday, January 11. (Monday is B day.) All courses will run according to the regular daily schedule.
  • Teachers will take attendance for each class period based on attendance in the virtual class. If your daughter does not sign in at the start of class and participate, she will be marked absent. We ask that you email Ms. LeBlanc by 8:30 in the morning, if you know that your daughter will not be able to log in/attend their classes.
  • Students must complete and return the attached online learning agreement.
  • All students are asked wear proper attire and “attend” class in a common area of the house.
  • All assignments will be posted to MySchoolApp. Students will submit assignments digitally while we are off campus.
  • Students who are eligible to receive extended time on assessments will continue to receive extended time.
  • Teachers will be available for extra help and parent questions via email from 3:15-3:45 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
  • Mrs. Irwin, our counselor; Mrs. Pierson, our college counselor; and Mrs. Suhren, our learning specialist; will be available by phone or Google Meet by appointment.
  • IT will be available throughout the school day via Gmail and Google Meet (meeting name: techroom) by appointment.
  • Students may email teachers any questions, and teachers will reply regularly throughout the school day.
  • Every other Friday, we will continue to digitally send Upper School Updates.

We are prepared and committed to providing your daughters with the instruction and support that they need to be successful in the coming weeks. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Sincerely,
Julie Boyd
