Presented by Dr. Don White
Retired Illinois School Superintendent and Data Expert

One of the best ways any superintendent can build confidence in their school board and community is to be able to say, "This is what the data tells us."

IASA's new academy, "Continuous Improvement in a Data-Driven World: Data-Wise While Seeing the Face of a Child," takes data analysis in school districts to another level, while not forgetting the human component involved in any major decision.

Participants will receive information about data analysis best practices, continuous improvement frameworks, and district, school and student level achievement data (e.g., Illinois Assessment of Readiness results, PARCC results, and Illinois School Report Cart comparisons).

Plus, participants will receive numerous one-page documents that can be used as part of a systems approach to continuous improvement.

What else? Participants will demonstrate how they will share their analyses in their districts and how they will coach others to use the data and analyses, and explain which Continuous Improvement Framework has the greatest potential to be implemented in their districts.

Though not a follow-up to AA 3020, Evidence Based Leadership: Using Data to Drive Immediate and Lasting Improvements, this academy derives from it and meets participants’ expressed demand for the opportunity and training to look more deeply into system and assessment data.

Prerequisite: At least intermediate-level expertise in Excel is preferred.

The target audience is superintendents and other school administrators with an interest in systems leadership and the use of data for making decisions.

Interested? Dr. White is ready to work with districts or with a group of districts in IASA regions. The process begins by clicking the link and sending an email to let Dr. White know you or a group of administrators in your region are interested.
