Dear HVCD,

As the days get shorter, come brighten your evening with music, fun and a welcoming diverse community of joyful dancers. Come solo or with a friend, a group or your family -- experienced or not, come!

Caller Ridge Kennedy, a dance leader and talented teacher, will call dances from a wide range of traditions and cultures. "I draw most strongly on the contra dances and square dances at traditional live music venues in the US today."

The music will be by the incomparable Selma Kaplan and George Wilson.

Selma Kapla is a standard bearers of traditional contra-dance piano. Her solid, inventive backup is in demand at dances and festivals up and down the east coast. With musical sensitivity and joy, she adds the right touch for a driving fiddle tune or a gorgeous gliding waltz.

A talented, multi-instrumentalist and singer, master fiddler George Wilson brings a repertoire of traditional and folk styles from New England, Quebec, Cape Breton, Scotland, Ireland and Shetland heritage. His dynamic fiddling has brought fun to contra dances since the late 1970s.
