Contract Explorer: Easier Access to Contract Info Today! *
The Contracts grid is delivering even easier access to useful information with the launch of Contract Explorer. This is an enhanced functionality within the Contracts grid that allows you to view key information in a grid format across various contracts, such as “How many slots am I funded for at each site?” and “What participant outcomes are we striving for?” Contract Explorer can help you answer those questions and many, many more; click here to learn how to make the most of this and other enhancements. Please note: Your default view in the Contracts grid will be updated as detailed in the linked document.
SPARK Training *
The Children's Trust is sponsoring a SPARK curriculum training for YAS providers on Friday, October 12, 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the Overtown Youth Center, 450 NW 14th St., Miami, FL 33136. If your agency implements SPARK for its fitness programming, the staff member who delivers your SPARK curriculum should attend. Registration required; reserve your spot via our community calendar. New Updated Trust Central Support Page
Trust-Funded providers can now find all the Trust Central support they need in one place! Access to all essential resources have been consolidated on a single page of the Provider Portal. Log in to The Trust website with your Trust Central login and visit Providers > Trust Central Support.
Injury Prevention: Upcoming Trainings
All Trust-funded providers are required to participate in childhood injury prevention capacity-building efforts facilitated by the Public Health Trust's Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Miami. Unless otherwise noted, all trainings take place at the University of Miami Mailman Center, located at 1601 NW 12th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136.

Advocacy Network on Disabilities: Upcoming Trainings

  • Discovering Inclusion Training - Now Available ONLINE Discovering Inclusion is an introductory workshop for staff with little or no previous knowledge about children and youth with disabilities and inclusion. It includes an introduction to various types of disabilities, identifying the benefits of inclusion for all, using People First Language and respectful etiquette, and the characteristics of an inclusive program. There is also an opportunity to explore personal beliefs and values.

The Early Learning Career Center, funded by The Children's Trust, is offering professional development scholarships to early childhood educators in Miami-Dade County to improve knowledge, skills, classroom practices and ultimately the quality of care offered to our children. Available Positions at The Children's Trust

  • Director of Communications The director of communications, using both traditional and innovative methodologies, is responsible for executing the planning and implementation of a comprehensive communications and community outreach program that includes, but is not limited to, planning and coordinating media events and press conferences; responding to media inquiries; planning and implementing public information programs and services; and developing news releases and other regular forms of communication such as newsletters and flash emails. In addition, the incumbent will oversee the design and updating of The Children's Trust website. He/she will also be accountable for building and maintaining relationships with key people in the media as well as within community, civic, education, health, business and faith sectors.

Review Specialist *
Florida Foster Care Review seeks a review specialist for its Citizen Review Panel (CRP). Responsibilities include preparing and overseeing CRP hearings, capturing review data; producing the CRP’s report for the court; helping to manage and train CRP volunteers; and attending court hearings and child welfare meetings/events as required. Must possess bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; minimum three years’ child welfare/dependency court experience; and excellent writing skills. Drivers
Girl Power seeks van drivers to be responsible for transporting children to its after-school and summer programs, and other locations involved in the daily operation of the agency. Responsibilities include performing minor preventative maintenance on van and maintaining records related to the operation/maintenance of van, mileage and student attendance.   • Certified Teacher - Part-Time * To teach math, language arts and science to students at Miami Northwestern Senior High School. Responsibilities include actively instructing students, creating lessons, communicating with parents and assisting students in preparing for standardized testing.   • Student & Family Advocate – Part-Time * To assist students attending Charles R. Drew Senior High School after-school programs. Must be able to engage children, communicate in English, have a command of mathematical concepts, and be able to participate in several evening and weekend events. Experience with children preferred; must pass a Level 2 background screening.
  • Transportation Specialist * To transport students to and from its educational programs at Charles R. Drew and Miami Northwestern senior high schools. Must be able to engage children, communicate in English and be able to participate in several evening and weekend events. Chauffeur's license, clean driving record and ability to pass a Level 2 background screening a must.

Available Positions at YMCA Homestead

  • Food Service Monitor * To be responsible for following food handling safety protocols as outlined by the YMCA food program guidelines, including receiving, storing and serving food to students at YMCA preschools. Responsibilities also include ensuring that appliances and equipment are kept clean and meet health department standards.
  • Preschool Teacher * Must possess National CDA; associate or bachelor's degree; experience in early childhood; and ability to communicate well in English, both written and spoken; bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) a plus.
