Nine Neighborhood Fund Awards Contracts for 3 Health and Well-being Initiatives in Central Providence

The Nine Neighborhood Fund has awarded contracts for three community-led projects aimed to improve the health and well-being of residents in Central Providence.

The awarded projects, included in the participatory budgeting initiative that residents ages 13+ voted on in June 2023, include bike distribution and repairs for qualified residents, peer mental health training for high school students, and water filters to reduce lead in households in the 02908/02909 zip codes.

The Nine Neighborhood Fund is a participatory budgeting initiative of CPO-HEZ (Central Providence Opportunities: A Health Equity Zone).

Our ONE Central Providence team convenes CPO-HEZ and leads the implementation of the 10-year Central Providence Roadmap. CPO-HEZ is a comprehensive initiative aimed at increasing economic mobility and health equity across nine neighborhoods in Central Providence.
