Activists and Leading Psychologists Launch Global Tour to Address the Emotional Effects of Centuries of Racial Oppression

New Haven, CT:  Community Healing Network (CHN), in collaboration with the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), will launch its multi-city 2018-2020 Global Truth Campaign and Tour  on October 12, 13 and 14, 2018, in New Haven, CT. Intended to help heal, and end, the trauma caused by 600 years of anti-Black racism, the Tour will include stops in Los Angeles and Oakland, CA; Portland, OR; Baltimore, MD; Kingston, Jamaica; Johannesburg, South Africa; Birmingham, United Kingdom; Richmond, VA; and Accra, Ghana. At each stop, CHN and ABPsi will introduce participants to Emotional Emancipation Circles, a healing experience described as “life-changing" changing.”

Why The Global Truth Campaign and Tour is the next step in CHN’s twelve-year initiative to build a global grassroots movement for the emotional emancipation of Black people. CHN has worked since 2006 to address the accumulated trauma caused by past and present racism.
CHN is: 1) raising awareness of the continuing negative impact of the false narrative of White superiority and Black inferiority that pervades societies around the world; and 2) developing tools for emotional emancipation, healing, and wellness, in partnership with its key ally, ABPsi.
Who The guide for the weekend’s
events will be the dynamic  Dr. Cheryl Tawede Grills . Dr. Grills, a Professor of Psychology and Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts at Loyola Marymount University, leads CHN’s Global Emotional Emancipation Circles Training Team.
